Oral Surgery

Oral surgeries by experienced dentists in North London

What types of oral surgery do we offer?

At Nova we are able to carry out complicated oral surgery procedures; Examples include;

  • Extraction of fractured teeth
  • Wisdom tooth extractions: Wisdom teeth can be the most difficult extractions. Often these are referred by dentists due to their complexity. At Nova we are able to remove even the most awkwardly placed wisdom teeth.
  • Apicectomy (endodontic surgery performed to remove the inflammation or infection persists in the bony area around the end of a tooth)

Apicectomy is done to treat the following:

Cyst

A cyst in soft tissue may appear as a small, painless bump. It is often less than 1 inch across. A cyst can be under the skin of the inner lower lip, inner cheek or gums. It usually does not cause pain unless it becomes infected.

A small odontogenic jaw cyst may be painless. You might not notice it. But it can be seen on an X-ray as a dark area in the bone. When an odontogenic cyst becomes large and infected, it may be painful. It also can cause the jawbone to bulge, and teeth to move.

The treatment may not be appropriate for every patient and it is conditional on the satisfactory assessment being carried out. Dentist must assess the patient, obtain appropriate consent, obtain a medical history and explain all the options before carrying out any work
